Open to children aged between 5-15 years old. These courses provide a safe, friendly and enjoyable environment for youngsters to improve their football skills during the school holidays. Each day of this course is focused on a specific technical element of the game with coaches delivering a range of technical coaching sessions in the morning followed by focused fun technical games in the afternoon.
Our Little Hammers specific sessions are open to children of all abilities aged between 3 and 5. These courses provide a safe, friendly and enjoyable learning environment for youngsters to improve their fundamental skills through the use of challenges and small games. Sessions are tailored to develop their basic hand-eye co-ordination skills, as well as their ABC skills (Agility, Balance and Coordination) in running, jumping, landing, throwing and catching.
Our Goalkeeping specific programmes give players the opportunity to develop their individual skills such as handling, footwork and distribution which can be overlooked when training as part of a team. Delivered by our UEFA/FA qualified goalkeeping coaches, these practices are specialised and are delivered in smaller groups to enhance development of all players.
Goalkeepers train independently to our other West Ham United Foundation Soccer Schools programmes on their technical skills but come together later in session enabling players to put techniques into practice. Goalkeeping courses are available for boys and girls of all abilities aged 8-14 years old.
The Academy Advanced Training programme is a unique insight into the day to day training of an Academy player at West Ham United FC. The programme will cover a wide range of topics ranging from ball manipulation, SAQ (speed, agility and quickness), positioning and finishing activities. All children who attend this programme will take part in a number of pre and post-tests to gauge their technical ability, skill sets, football awareness and physical attributes throughout the week. Due to the elite nature of these sessions, players are advised to be playing at a competitive level of grassroots football in order to progress along the player development ladder.
Our One-2 Programme is designed to aid in the development of youth players to focus on players technical, physical and psychological attributes. The One to One session are delivered over one hour and are for ALL playing positions and anyone over the age of 7 years old.
In this programme we also video record the sessions for a number of reasons:
1. The player will have video documentation as a reflection tool and to re-visit at a later date to continue their development.
2. Where we are linked to the West Ham United Academy, with consent from Guardians we can provide the footage to our Academy Integration Officers who recruit players for the Pre-Academy and Academy trial process.
