At West Ham United Foundation, our Technical Development Centres are committed to improving the footballing capabilities of every player we work with — including our goalkeepers. Our dedicated Goalkeeper Development Programme offers a unique opportunity for young keepers to progress along our Player Pathway through high-quality, specialised training.

We are proud to introduce a NEW innovative coaching programme specifically designed to inspire and elevate the performance of aspiring goalkeepers. This programme places a strong emphasis on developing technical excellence, positional awareness, and decision-making under pressure.

Individual Development Weeks will focus on goalkeeper-specific techniques such as shot-stopping, distribution, handling, footwork, and one-on-one scenarios. Players will benefit from high-repetition drills to maximise touches and develop muscle memory, ensuring maximum “glove time” during every session.

Group Play Weeks will involve more structured, game-relevant situations, allowing goalkeepers to apply their skills in realistic match-based scenarios. This includes small-sided games, defensive organisation, communication with defenders, and live attacking drills — all designed to simulate the dynamic environment of the beautiful game.
